Purdue Northwest Microbiology Lab Renovation-Westville, IN
Purdue Northwest selected the Wightman Architectural Studio to develop a feasibility study to identify potential programmatic expansion options for the Microbiology Department and provide modern classroom facilities in the Westville Technology Building. The scope of study is to perform the Pre-Design service that will provide the University with the information required to make an informed decision regarding the feasibility of the projects.
Active Learning Classrooms
The Active Learning Classrooms will cultivate learning by providing reconfigurable spaces that encourage interaction. The Active Learning Classroom also provides advanced classroom technology to enhance the learning experience.
This project will provide an addition of two Active Learning Classrooms in the Purdue Northwest – Westville Technology Building, including the conversion of a storage room into a lecture-style classroom for 40 students and converting two classrooms into a second flexible, small-group classroom.
Microbiology Lab
To support the program’s growth, the goal of this project is to convert existing classrooms and storage spaces in the Technology Building into a Microbiology Lab Suite. Two storage rooms will be converted into a Preparation Room with an autoclave and a research/ preparation space.
