Zoning Online Mapping-Dowagiac, Michigan

As a longtime trusted advisor to the City of Dowagiac, Wightman partnered on a project to improve the level of service the City provides to its residents. Mapping services were provided to the City in support of the adoption of their new zoning ordinance.  The interactive maps were used during public meetings to highlight locations affected by specific zoning ordinances. The new interactive maps will be placed on the City’s new website upon its completion early next year and will be easily accessible to the general public.  The maps not only benefit current residents but also companies that may wish to relocate to the City. 

Each parcel on the maps will contain links to current zoning ordinances online as well as to the updated property records found on BS&A. In addition, Wightman will be providing training to City staff who will be regularly updating and maintaining the data to ensure it is current and accurate. The new online zoning and future land use maps will replace outdated paper maps and become living documents and ensure accurate and timely information is available online at all times.
