GIS Drain Tool

The Van Buren County Drain Commissioner engaged Wightman to streamline their production of assessment rolls and mailing lists. Rolls are used by staff for notifying the public of upcoming work or assessments related to ongoing projects. Previously, the process for creating the rolls was quite repetitive and laborious.

Wightman’s GIS Team automated the creation of mailing notices and assessment rolls using GIS technology and python scripting. What once took the drain office staff hours to complete, they can now complete within minutes using this new tool. In turn, GIS has become integrated into their daily operations.
