Reinvention of an Iconic School Facility for Next Generation Learners
Our Education Design Team partnered with our clients to envision a transformation of their underutilized and outdated circa 1950’s elementary school into a state-of-the-art teaching and learning facility for their staff and students.
The existing school received very few updates over the last 70 years of operation and needed updating to support Next Generation learners. With our client, the Education Design Team explored possible renovations of learning spaces and additional support spaces as the research center, fine arts studios, performance and presentation areas, including wellbeing spaces such as athletic and play areas. While exploring rebranding for the school, we reimagined the exterior and main entrance to reflect its values. The client’s goal to reimagine school for the Next Generation Learner included low-cost renovations such as flooring, paint with accent colors to define, and bringing spaces to life. Planning furniture around learning activities allows both teacher and student to quickly organize and arrange furniture to meet the learning objectives at that moment. Flexibility for teachers and students provides for a great Next Generation Learning environment.
