Commitment to the People Who Make Our Company Great
a tHOUGHTFUL tRANSITION
Wightman is proud to welcome Steve Carlisle, P.E. as its new President effective April 9 following the firm's annual shareholder meeting.
Carlisle, a Michigan State University graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, has built an impressive career in the industry and worked at Wightman for the last 27 years. His roles and leadership positions at the firm include serving as a civil engineer, project manager, client representative, Director of Engineering (2015-2022), a member of the firm's Board of Directors (2012-2023) including several terms as Chairman, and Government Sector Lead (2022-April 2024).
Although Carlisle will now oversee all aspects of Wightman's operations and business development to achieve the firm's strategic plan, outgoing President Matt Davis, a Wightman employee since 1994, will stay on full-time as Special Project Manager and focus on complex business and client projects and talent recruitment and development across the firm.
The leadership transition has been a process two years in the making. Since Davis indicated he was ready to step down, the Board has worked diligently to consider internal and external candidates and ensure the best outcome for Wightman's team members, clients, and future.
Wightman held a Q&A session for its staff to ask questions of Steve Carlisle and Matt Davis. To view the questions and their responses, visit Wightman Presidency Transition QA .pdf
