Maria Benz-Weeden, PE

Based in the Kalamazoo office as a Civil Engineer, Maria Carpita first joined Wightman in 2020 as an Engineering Intern. She turned that experience into a full-time position making a difference for clients everyday through her skills and positive outlook. Maria earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree with a minor in Psychology from Michigan Technological University and has passed the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying Fundamentals of Civil Engineering Exam. She sees her role with Wightman as an opportunity to build strong client relationships by helping solve problems while having a positive impact on the community in which she lives and works. For her, one of the rewards of her job is seeing that impact first hand.
