Notre Dame Catholic School-Michigan City, IN

Needing additional space for academics and athletics while also working to attract new students, the Notre Dame Catholic School recognized the need for educational planning services. Our team at Wightman was selected to work with school leadership to develop a long-range Master Plan.

The process began by establishing goals which helped define a vision of what the Notre Dame Catholic School could be, as the participants dreamed of an expanded facility. A physical assessment of the current school and parish center’s conditions was used to determine future “bricks and mortar” needs, and our team facilitated a parish charrette workshop to generate concepts.

From the concepts a plan for improvements was developed that provided additional academic and athletic spaces and future capital improvement needs while working within a budget. The plan was well received and is being expanded to include the entire campus, including the church and rectory, giving Notre Dame Catholic School and Parish a plan to fulfill their dreams.
