Bishop Noll Institute Outdoor Athletic Facilities

Bishop Noll Institute, a respected private Catholic college preparatory high school located in Gary, Indiana, has long been recognized for its commitment to academic excellence and its proud tradition of athletic success. As the school continues to grow, so have the needs of its student-athletes. To continue fostering excellence both on and off the field, Bishop Noll sought to invest in high-quality, modern athletic facilities that would meet the demands of its current athletic programs and support future growth.

To bring this vision to life, Wightman’s architectural team began to design a new athletic complex that maximizes functionality within the constraints of a compact, urban campus. The design challenge required thoughtful planning and efficient use of space to deliver a high-impact solution without compromising either performance or versatility.

The improvements include a newly constructed 8-lane competition track that meets modern standards for hosting track and field events. A multi-purpose synthetic turf field was also introduced, designed for shared use among the school’s football and soccer teams as well as the marching band, offering a durable and flexible surface that accommodates a range of activities. New softball fields were also developed, and designated space has been reserved to allow for the future addition of tennis courts as the athletic program continues to expand.

These state-of-the-art facilities elevate the athletic experience for current students and serve as a lasting investment in the vitality of Bishop Noll’s athletic programming. The upgrades are a sign of a continued commitment to student development, school pride, and competitive excellence for generations to come.
