Wightman Adds New Southgate Office, Welcomes New Team Members

Wightman, an employee-owned consulting firm offering architecture, civil engineering, and surveying services, recently opened a new office in Southgate, Mich. In addition to the new location, Wightman also hired three new team members to staff the Southgate presence.

The newly added office is located at 14328 Northline Road, Suite A. It is the eighth Wightman location in the Midwest. Other Wightman office locations include Benton Harbor, Allegan, Kalamazoo, Royal Oak, and Hastings, Mich., and South Bend and Plymouth, Ind.

“Having this additional office in the Southeastern part of Michigan will help us better serve our existing clients and make new connections within the numerous communities and industries we serve,” said Matt Davis, Wightman President.

“At Wightman, we are all about people,” he added. “With the expansion into Southgate, we are also excited to welcome three new team members to the Wightman family along with their extensive experience and areas of expertise.”

New hires include Department Manager Emmanuel Kollias, Senior Project Coordinator Joe Gutierrez, and Senior Project Coordinator Kathleen Lilienthal-Williams. Collectively, these individuals bring more than 66 years of experience to the Wightman team.

Kollias is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Detroit. Registered as an architect in Michigan, Florida, and Texas, he has more than 30 years of experience in architectural design and planning for municipal, commercial, industrial, and healthcare clients.

Gutierrez earned both Bachelor of Science and Master of Architecture degrees from Lawrence Technical University. He is an Assoc. AIA with 19 years of experience in architectural design, construction documentation, CAD-based programming, and graphic design.

Lilienthal-Williams also earned both Bachelor of Science and Master of Architecture degrees from Lawrence Technical University. With more than 17 years of experience in architecture, she specializes in creating cohesive project teams and developing designs that ensure a client’s vision is met.

Each of these team members was hired in 2022 in anticipation of opening the Southgate office.
