Wightman Adds Two Branches, Expands into Two Markets

Wightman recently announced corporate growth with the addition of four Indiana-based firms to the Wightman brand. Adding to the Michigan-based company’s existing five locations, the Wightman team now includes Lang, Feeney & Associates, Inc. (Lang Feeney) in South Bend, Ind. and Plymouth Land Surveying & Design of Plymouth, Ind.

The combining of talents was finalized Dec. 31, 2021, bringing Wightman’s total employees to over 150 across seven locations in two states.

“We are excited to welcome new members to the Wightman team and support them in their relationships with the clients and communities they serve,” said Matt Davis, President of Wightman.

“These new branches will continue to provide the local expertise and knowledgeable service they have been known for throughout Northern Indiana,” Davis continued. “Local contacts and offices will be maintained. These offerings will now be backed by Wightman and its 75 years of experience, allowing all locations to serve existing and future clients with expanded offerings and collective expertise.”

Founded in 1946, Wightman is currently celebrating its 75th anniversary. Its existing locations include Benton Harbor, Kalamazoo, Allegan, Hastings, and Royal Oak, Mich. The full-service consulting firm’s four main sectors of business are commercial, education, government, and utilities.

“After 75 years in business, Wightman continues to grow,” said Brian Lieberg, Wightman’s Director of Surveying. “This partnership further cements our commitment to the people and communities we call home and helps lay a foundation of people-centered solutions for generations to come.”

Lang Feeney was founded in South Bend in 1976 as a land surveyor. With the addition of soil sciences and civil engineering services, it has grown into a multi-disciplined company serving Northern Indiana.

It is also the parent company of Creekside Mortgage Surveys Inc. of South Bend, Ind. R.E. Daake & Associates of Rochester, Ind., and Plymouth Land Surveying & Design of Plymouth, Ind.

“Wightman is all about people, communities, and providing client-centered solutions,” said Bernie Feeney, former Principal/Owner of Lang Feeney, now Regional Manager at Wightman. “Lang Feeney and its subsidiaries operate similarly to Wightman, and our collective clients can expect nothing but excellent service and partnership going forward.”
